Calcium Carbonate Scale Inhibition with Ultrasonication and a Commercial Antiscalant

In this study, ultrasonication-assisted calcium carbonate scale inhibition was investigated compared with a commercial antiscalant ATMP (amino tris(methyl phosphonic acid)). The effects of varying ultrasound amplitude, pH, and duration were evaluated. formation measured based on the concentration in solution after subjecting to different conditions. Scale deposits also characterized using scanning electron microscopy X-ray diffraction spectroscopy. Inhibition supported at pH 7 for an amplitude 150 W. A 94% recorded when experiment carried out ultrasonication. use 5 mg/L achieved 90% ATMP. result characterization revealed that morphology crystals unaffected by ultrasonic irradiation. Sample treatment performed two membranes evaluate deposition, data reveals that, identical conditions, ultrasonication provides less deposition control experiments.
